Week 6
Week 6: Abraham
Tonight, we learned about Abraham. Abram (God would later change his name to Abraham) came from a place called Ur. God set His love on this person and His family. Abraham would be the man to carry out the next step of God’s plan. Abram wasn’t necessarily a great guy. In fact, he and his family worshipped false gods. He had a wife named Sarah, who couldn’t have any children. Here was a man, a long way off in Ur, worshipping the wrong gods, with a wife who couldn’t have a baby. And you know what God did? He told Abraham the hardest, strangest, most amazing thing he had ever heard. In Genesis 12:1-3, God gives Abram some pretty amazing promises!

Review questions:
What did God as Abraham to do? Leave his home country and go to a place He would show him.
What did God promise Abram? To make him a great nation. All nations would be blessed through him. He said that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Why was this promised hard for Abram to believe? He was already 75 years old and had not children.
